In order to give through a bequest, the donor may write Voices for Children directly into his or her will or, alternatively, may fill out and sign a separate form that amends an existing will, which is known as a codicil. Please click here to see a form codicil that will allow you to make a gift to Voices for Children.*
To give through an IRA, 401(k), or life insurance account, the donor is required to name Voices for Children as a beneficiary. Given that multiple organizations administer IRAs, 401(k) plans, and life insurance policies, Voices for Children is not be able to make a change of beneficiary form available to prospective donors. However, please click here for exemplar text of a letter to add Voices for Children as a beneficiary.*
Charitable remainder trusts allow individuals to place funds into an irrevocable trust that will pay them a certain annual income for the remainder of their lives. This investment vehicle is appealing primarily for its tax advantages. Once the trust is created, the creator (or settlor) of the trust is able to name charitable organizations as beneficiaries of the trust principal, which is not paid until the settlor's death. In order to make a gift through this vehicle, the donor is required to amend the trust to name Voices for Children as a beneficiary.
